Inside the Hive: A Guided Hive Experience
Step inside the fascinating world of honeybees with KC Bee Lady’s guided hive experience. This small-group experience gives participants the opportunity to safely observe and explore a real working honeybee hive alongside an experienced beekeeper.
Guests will get an up-close look inside a live colony while learning about hive structure, bee behavior, the role of the queen, how honey is made, and how thousands of bees work together inside the hive.
Whether you are simply curious about bees or looking for a unique outdoor experience, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the inside of a live hive up close.
What You’ll Experience:
• Guided tour of a working honeybee hive
• Observe brood, pollen, honey, and developing bees
• Learn about bee behavior and colony structure
• See how a hive functions day-to-day
• Opportunity to spot the queen — hopefully! Fingers crossed 🤞🐝
• Ask questions during the experience
Experience Details:
• Approximately 90 minutes
• Starts at 8:30 AM (doors open at 8:15 AM for registration)
• Early morning start for cooler temperatures and the best hive activity
• Ages 12+
• Small group setting
• Protective gear provided
• Boots required
• Outdoor experience and weather dependent
• Queen bee sightings are not guaranteed
• $65 per person
Additional Information:
• A minimum of 5 participants is required for each experience. If the minimum is not met, the experience will be canceled and a full refund will be provided.
• Due to limited group sizes, registrations cannot be transferred to another date.
• If weather conditions are unfavorable, the experience will be rescheduled. If the rescheduled date does not work with your schedule, a refund will be provided.
• Participants should understand that this experience involves live honeybees and there is always a possibility of bee stings.
