Hi! I'm Christine, owner of KC Bee Lady.

I started KC Bee Lady in 2016 with a passion for honey bees and a desire to help others discover the rewarding hobby of beekeeping. What began with a few hives has grown into a trusted resource for new beekeepers throughout the Kansas City area.

KC Bee Lady is truly a team effort. Although we all have busy lives and careers outside of beekeeping, we share a passion for helping others get started.

My husband, Jake, is a union carpenter whose craftsmanship and work ethic play a huge role in our business. From building hive stands and equipment to helping with bee pickups, workshops, and everything in between, he's always willing to lend a hand. The beautiful hive featured in our photos was handcrafted by Jake and is just one example of the pride he puts into everything he builds.

Katie is also an important part of the KC Bee Lady team. As a single mom raising her daughter, Olivia, while running her own business, Enchanted Dawn Marketing, she somehow still finds time to help with workshops, bee pickups, and behind-the-scenes projects. Her dedication, creativity, and willingness to jump in wherever she's needed make her an invaluable part of our team.

Our goal isn't to manage thousands of beehives - it's to help thousands of people get started in beekeeping.

That's why we intentionally maintain a manageable number of hives. Rather than focusing on the size of our apiary, we focus on providing quality bees, educational workshops, online learning, and the support new beekeepers need to begin their journey with confidence.
