Hi, I’m Christine—owner of KC Bee Lady, formerly known as The Kansas Bee Company. I started this bee business in 2016, and what began as a passion quickly grew into a journey I still love every day. It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a decade of working with bees and helping others do the same.

When I’m not in the bee yard, I work as an accountant for a general contractor in Kansas. I like to say I’m both a beekeeper and a bookkeeper - a balance of numbers and nature that suits me perfectly.

My husband, Jake, is a talented carpenter and lends a helping hand whenever he’s not busy with his own work. He even built the hive you see in these photos, which makes our operation truly a family effort.

We maintain a small number of hives and are not a large commercial beekeeping operation by design. My goal has never been to manage hundreds of hives. Instead, my passion is helping thousands of new beekeepers feel confident getting started, learn the basics the right way, and enjoy the incredible experience of keeping bees.
