Workshop / Inside the Hive Experience Policy

All workshops and Inside the Hive Experiences are scheduled for specific dates and cannot be moved, transferred, or rescheduled due to limited availability.

If we need to reschedule an event due to weather or illness, an alternative date will be offered. If the rescheduled date does not work for your schedule, a full refund will be provided.

Bee Sales Policy

Bee deposits and/or payments in full are non-refundable.

Bees are ordered between October – April. We cannot provide an exact pickup date until we get closer to April. Weather controls everything in beekeeping and weather is unpredictable.

When the bees are ready, it's very important that you pick them up. The bees cannot be held past their pickup date. Their well-being is our top priority! 

There are no refunds for no-shows at pickup.

Bee & Queen Guarantee Policy

After picking up your bees, a 48-hour window is provided to report major concerns requiring a possible exchange. It is the customer’s responsibility to return the bees to Belton, Missouri for evaluation and any approved exchange.

All bees and queens are sold as live agricultural livestock. Colonies are confirmed queen-right and healthy at the time of pickup.

Due to the many factors involved in beekeeping after pickup - including weather, inspections, transportation, handling, forage conditions, pesticides, disease, queen supersedure, swarming, and hive management - KC Bee Lady does not guarantee queens, colony survival, honey production, or long-term hive success after pickup.

Customers are responsible for ongoing hive management and continued beekeeping education after bees leave our care.

After Pickup Communication

KC Bee Lady provides educational resources and limited customer support to bee customers; however, we are not able to provide unlimited one-on-one mentoring, emergency hive management, or on-demand beekeeping support.

Due to the volume of customers during bee season, customer communication is handled by email only through kcbeelady@yahoo.com. Emails are checked periodically throughout the week, and response times may vary. Due to message volume, some questions may be addressed through FAQ updates or educational resources rather than individual replies.

Customers are encouraged to utilize classes, online educational resources, and independent research as part of their beekeeping journey.

Honey Sales Policy

  • All honey sales are final.

  • Customers must text 816-739-0726 within 3 days of purchase with the day they plan to pick up their honey. We do not send pickup reminders or contact customers to arrange pickup.

  • If we do not hear from you within 3 days of purchase, your order will be canceled and refunded less a $10 restocking/processing fee.

  • Once a pickup day has been provided, your honey will be placed on the yellow table next to our garage for pickup on that day. If the order is not picked up, it will be brought back inside and held for one additional pickup attempt.

  • After two missed pickup attempts, the order will be canceled and refunded less a $10 restocking/processing fee.

    By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.
